TE TŪĀPAPA O TAMARAU

Our Centre Philosophy

Our core belief is that tamariki are a taonga from God; nurtured within the korowai of their tīpuna and whānau and empowered to flourish in all facets of their being; ā-wairua, ā-tinana, ā-whatumanawa, ā-hinengaro.

Kaiako will partner with whānau to provide a bilingual learning environment that offers authentic
opportunities to learn together through the integrated use of te reo and tikanga Māori.

Whanaungatanga
Relationships

Children thrive in high-trust relationships that are fostered through respectful, meaningful and responsive interactions.

Collaboration with whānau is essential to achieving the best possible outcomes for tamariki.

Our Logo - Ngā Pūkeko

The mother represents the whakapapa of our beloved matriach,

Ana Kōtukutuku Grace; a descendant of Ngāti Pūkeko.

An educator, mother, grandmother and dedicated advocate for both Kōhanga Reo and Special Needs Education.

The baby nestled at her feet symbolises the multitude of children she nurtured and sheltered, and  the children we continue to care for.
